  • Document damage to your property and personal belongings with photographs and video.
  • Gather all pre-damage photos or videos for comparison.
  • Do not discard damaged items until an adjuster has inspected them.
  • Save all receipts for temporary repairs or additional living expenses incurred evacuating or being displaced after the storm.
  • Keep a log of every conversation with insurance representatives and others regarding your hurricane damage. Including the date and time of the conversation and the name of the person, and paying special attention to any monetary amounts mentioned.
  • Save all correspondence or other documents relating to your hurricane damage.
