Kentuckians impacted by the tornadoes that devastated areas in the western portion of the state on December 10, 2021 are faced with the monumental task of rebuilding their homes and their lives. Unfortunately many of those Kentuckians face another unexpected obstacle, battling with their insurance company to get what they are owed under their policy. Further still, unbeknownst to many of those in disputes with their insurance company, they only have until December 10, 2022, to file a law suit or they will be barred from recovery.
The tornadoes that ripped their way through the western region of Kentucky, left destruction in its wake. Many of the 70 total were verified to be a category EF4 with wind speeds reaching 155 MPH – 206 MPH and traveling over 220 Miles. Insurance is critical to bouncing back after a catastrophe like this.
