Jacob Busey

Jacob Busey, Attorney

Born in Augsburg, Bavaria, West Germany in 1989, he spent his early childhood moving frequently as the son of an Army officer, before his family finally put down roots in Concord, North Carolina. It was there that he came into his own, competing in football, wrestling, track, martial arts, and weightlifting throughout high school, and building the discipline and drive that would define the rest of his life.

He began his college career at East Carolina University, but after a couple of years, he felt the pull toward service and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as an intelligence specialist, serving from 2012 to 2017. His time in the Marines sharpened his analytical mind and instilled a lasting commitment to duty and precision.

After leaving active duty, he returned to his education, earning a B.A. in History from National University. From there, he pursued law school at the Charleston School of Law, channeling his military discipline into the study of law. Before his current role, he served as in-house counsel at a credit union, where he built standard operating procedures from the ground up and handled all litigation across North Carolina.

Along the way, he met his wife in college. They’ve now been married for almost 14 years and consider themselves true partners in crime, together raising a 2½-year-old son and three dogs.

Even with a demanding career and family life, he never stopped learning, he is currently halfway through a M.A. degree in Military History at The Citadel, pursued simply for the love of the subject. In his free time, he collects historic firearms and coins, keeps up a serious weightlifting routine, reads voraciously, and cherishes time with his family above all else.

Semper Fidelis.
